Field service management software · Built for the trades

Your whole shop, on one board.

Journeyman is field service management software for HVAC, plumbing, and electrical shops. It turns calls into work orders, work orders into a drag-and-drop dispatch schedule, and finished jobs into signed close-outs, with estimates, parts, and customer history along for the ride. We're opening the doors soon.

Every job advances one step at a time, and the next action is always one button: assign, schedule, start, complete. The office and the field see the same status, live. Built for small trades shops that dispatch two or three crews a day.

THE FIELD

Techs run their whole day from the field app in their pocket

No calls back to the office, no paper triplicate. The technician app is the day's route, the job's paperwork, and the customer's signature, all on the phone they already carry.

Route timeline: stops in order, live progress, the active job front and center.
Checklists by job type: a replacement and a repair start with the right steps.
Parts logged on site: truck stock stays honest, and the invoice writes itself.
Sign-on-glass close-out: photos, summary, customer signature. Job closes itself and the next stop queues up.

Queued

Questions crews actually ask

When does it actually launch?
Early access opens in waves to the first 100 shops on this list, then general availability follows. Join the waitlist and we'll email you when your wave is up. One email, no drip campaign.
Does it work for HVAC, plumbing, and electrical shops?
Yes. Plumbing, HVAC, electrical, appliance repair. If your team rolls trucks, the workflow is the same: call, work order, dispatch, close-out. Job types, checklists, and tags are fully editable, so your jobs speak your language.
Do my techs need new hardware?
No. The Journeyman field app runs in the browser on any phone they already carry, with route, checklist, parts, photos, and customer signature included. Nothing to install, nothing to provision.
What does early access cost?
Nothing to join, and every plan starts with a 90-day free trial. Shops that come in through early access keep their founding price for as long as they stay subscribed.
Who owns our data?
You do. Your data stays yours: export a full JSON backup of everything: jobs, customers, estimates, inventory. Anytime, no support ticket required.
How is this different from a whiteboard and a group chat?
A whiteboard cannot tell you which jobs are still unassigned on Thursday, and a group chat loses the photo of the serial plate the moment someone posts a lunch order. Journeyman keeps one record per job that both the office and the truck are looking at, so the schedule, the parts used, and the customer signature all end up in the same place instead of three.
What size shop is Journeyman built for?
Small to mid-size trades shops: owner-operators through to roughly fifty technicians. If you are dispatching two or three crews a day and the schedule still lives in someone's head, that is exactly the gap this fills. Very large operations with heavy ERP integration needs are not the target.
Does the field app work offline, like a crawlspace with no signal?
Techs can keep working through a dead spot and the job syncs when the phone finds service again. Nothing is lost because a basement had no bars, and nobody has to re-key a checklist back at the shop.
Can we bring our existing customers and open jobs across?
Yes. Customers, sites, and open work orders import from a spreadsheet, which is what most shops leaving a whiteboard or an old system already have. Early-access shops get help doing the first import.
